From January 20th, 2027 all new machinery in EU/EOS are to comply with the Machinery Regulation 2023/1230. Both the Regulation and new/updated harmonised standards gives new requirements for a legal instruction handbook. For machinery outside EU/EOS we use ISO 20607 Instruction handbook for machinery, where the 2026 update is expected to be publised in Q3/Q4 2026.

Biography

Hans Morten Henriksen, M. Sc. is CEO in Maskinsikkerhed ApS, a leading consulting company with +20 CE-marking specialists in machinery. He has +30 years of relevant experience in consultancy and training in machinery instructions, and was ISOs initial project manager on updating ISO 20607 Instruction Handbook for Machinery, to the requirements in the Machinery Regulation.
