From January 20th, 2027 all new machinery in EU/EOS are to comply with the Machinery Regulation 2023/1230. Both the Regulation and new/updated harmonised standards gives new requirements for a legal instruction handbook. For machinery outside EU/EOS we use ISO 20607 Instruction handbook for machinery, where the 2026 update is expected to be publised in Q3/Q4 2026.

With more than 35 years of experience in CE marking and regulatory compliance, Jan specializes in machinery safety, the Machinery Directive and Regulation, ATEX, EMC, PED, and LVD. I spent 25 years at ROCKWOOL, responsible for CE marking, technical documentation, and quality assurance. Additionally, Jan has served for more than 15 years on various Danish standardization committees.
