2026 has been a big year for the EU signing new trade agreements. Traditional and established trade for various reasons has become unstable and now the strengthening and emergence of other trade partners is becoming highly sought. Essentially, the EU is looking for economic trade stability. With new markets comes new languages, cultures, nuances and first impressions are vital.

Technical writing and localisation are pivotal in the user experience and market engagement to software or hardware being delivered. However, we are both often forgotten in the go to market strategy or we don’t talk to each other enough to get the best results. It’s times like these, that we should team up for deliveries and learn from one another.

In this presentation, Lawson and Jonas will deliver insight onto what LSPs see in the failed relationship between technical documentation and translations in global market strategies/expansions.

Since the age of 22, Lawson has been involved in problem solving multilingual communications in various communities across Australia, Canada and the EU. Lawson has combined his education and experience as an interpreter, translator, consultant, and advisory over the last 14 years to bridge the communication gap. Hi, I’m Jonas. I specialize in building and scaling efficient localisation and integration operations. My career has been defined by a curiosity for how things work and a drive to make them work better. I believe that the best strategies are built on a foundation of operational excellence and clear communication. I have a background in Japanese studies and have been in the industry for a long period. 

Outside of work, I’m always looking to connect with fellow innovators and leaders in the technical writing space.
