In my presentation, I will address these two critical topics from my own perspective as well as through the lens of Yellow Safety’s clients. The focus will be on how the new legislation affects professionals working with technical documentation and legal compliance related to machinery and plants.
The EU Cybersecurity Trifecta
The Machinery Regulation completes the EU trifecta of cybersecurity legislation (alongside NIS2 and the CRA) and sets out requirements for the specific machine's security level. I will provide an introduction to the new, soon-to-be harmonized standard EN 50742 and outline the documentation demands for those who manufacture machines and process plants.
Clarification of the roles associated with importet machinery
A growing number of machines from outside the EU are entering the European market, especially from China. The new regulation clarifies the responsibilities for importers, distributors, and manufacturers alike. It is vital for legal and compliance teams to master the new requirements to avoid assuming unintended liabilities and excessive documentation burdens.
