After having studied technical translation, Marion used to work for ten years at a global localization company as a translator, project manager and business unit manager. Three years of freelance translation, technical writing and consulting followed, before Marion started her career at Flensburg University of Applied Sciences, where she started as a research assistant. Today she is teaching BA and MA students in International Technical Communication. In 2021 Marion finished her doctoral studies with a PhD in Applied Linguistics. The title of the dissertation "Kommunikative Bedingungen Maschineller Übersetzbarkeit" (Communicative Conditions for Machine Translatability) reflects her passion for natural language processing and human computer interaction.
